The Short Answer

A search for Maya casino games means one of two things, and they have different answers.
Games played inside the Maya app are gone. Casinos that accept Maya as a
payment method still exist, and the section below names the one whose cashier
publishes the figures rather than a vague “e-wallets accepted”.

At 8:00 p.m. on 16 August 2025, Maya disabled the gambling links inside its
Games feature. It acted on an instruction from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas,
which had given every institution it supervises 48 hours to strip in-app gambling access out of
its apps. Anyone holding a balance in a linked gaming account was told to move it back to the Maya
Wallet through the Games feature before the cut-off. Today that part of the app sells gaming pins
— PSN, Xbox Live, Nintendo eShop, Steam Wallet — and nothing else.

What the instruction took away was the shortcut inside the app. The wallet, the
transfers made from it and the card attached to it were not switched off. That distinction is the
whole of the practical answer, and the
GCash page on this site reads the
memorandum itself line by line if you want the full legal position.

Casinos That Accept Maya

Method lists are set per country, so the question worth asking is narrower than
“does this casino take e-wallets”: it is whether Maya appears in the cashier for a
Philippine account
, and whether it appears on the withdrawal list as well as the deposit
list. One operator covered on this site publishes both, by name, with numbers attached.

Betwinner100–50,000 ₱, no fee, in and out15 minutesUp to €1,500 + 150 free spins across four deposits, 35x4.2

Betwinner lists PayMaya and GCash for Philippine accounts at
100 ₱ to 50,000 ₱, with no fee, on deposits and withdrawals alike, and
sets a 15-minute target on every payout route except domestic bank transfer, which
runs up to two days. Cards are deposit-only there, so a wallet or crypto is the route to plan a
withdrawal around. The casino welcome pack is up to €1,500 plus 150 free spins
across the first four deposits at 35x wagering within seven days, with a
€10 minimum first deposit and a €5 cap on bets while a bonus is running. Licence: Curaçao

Anywhere else, the check takes a minute and is worth more than any list: open the site’s
cashier or payments page, set the country to the Philippines, and look for Maya or PayMaya on both
sides of the screen. A method that takes money in but cannot send it back is the commonest gap, and
it is invisible until the first withdrawal. The
payment methods guide covers the other wallets,
cards and transfer routes.

Maya or GCash, at the Same Casino

Both wallets did the same thing on the same evening, and at Betwinner they sit on identical
terms — the same 100–50,000 ₱ band, the same absence of a fee, the same 15-minute
target. Where that is true, the choice is simply which wallet already holds your money, because
funding one from the other adds a step and, depending on the route, a charge.

How a Deposit Reaches the Cashier

Nothing about the route is unusual, which is the point — it is an ordinary wallet payment
to a merchant.

  1. Open the cashier on the casino site and set the country to the Philippines, so
the peso methods appear rather than the default international set.
  2. Choose Maya or PayMaya, whichever name the operator uses.
  3. Enter the amount. At Betwinner the floor is 100 ₱ and the ceiling
    50,000 ₱ per transaction.
  4. Approve the payment in the Maya app. The balance moves from the wallet; the casino credits the
    account in its own currency.
  5. Check the credited figure against what left the wallet. If the casino account is denominated in
euros or dollars, the difference is the conversion.

two different lists. Read both before the first deposit, not after the first win.

Getting Paid Back to Maya

A payout is where the two lists stop matching at most sites, and it is worth being specific about
what to look for.

  • The method has to appear on the withdrawal screen, not just the deposit screen.
At Betwinner, PayMaya does, on the same 100–50,000 ₱ band.
  • Identity checks run before the first payout, not at registration. A proof of
identity and address is standard, and a wallet held in a different name from the casino account is
the usual reason a withdrawal stalls.
  • The published time is the operator’s processing target, not the arrival time.
Betwinner’s 15 minutes covers crypto and e-wallets; a domestic bank transfer there runs up to
    two days.
  • Peso limits are per transaction. A larger balance comes out in instalments,
which is normal rather than a problem, but it changes how long the whole balance takes to land.

The Card on the Same Balance

This is the part of Maya that has no equivalent in a plain wallet. Maya issues a
virtual card, activated in the app and usable immediately, and an optional
physical card ordered through the app or bought at a partner outlet. Both draw on
the same Maya Wallet balance, so there is nothing to move between them. Maya’s own description
of the physical card is that it works “anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted”, in store
by tap or chip and at ATMs, with a forex charge of 1.75% on international ATM
withdrawals. The virtual card is the one Maya points at online shopping and subscriptions.

Whether a card payment goes through at a particular casino is decided by the operator’s card
processing and by the issuer, not by the wallet balance, and it is worth knowing that Betwinner
treats cards as deposit-only in any case. Where a site pays out to cards at all, the money goes back
to the card it came from.

Fees, Limits and Currency

Three separate parties set the numbers, and only one of them is the wallet.

Who sets itWhat it governs
The casinoMinimum and maximum per transaction, whether the method appears for withdrawals, the processing target, and any operator-side fee. Betwinner publishes 100–50,000 ₱, no fee, 15 minutes.
MayaWallet balance ceilings, cash-in and cash-out charges on the routes you use to fund the wallet, and the 1.75% forex charge on international ATM withdrawals.
The account currencyWhether a conversion happens at all. A peso deposit into a euro-denominated casino account converts on the way in and again on the way out.

What the 2025 Rule Changed

The instrument is BSP Memorandum No. M-2025-029, issued in August 2025 under
Monetary Board Resolution No. 805 of 14 August 2025. It told every BSP-supervised institution to
remove “links providing in-app gambling access” within 48 hours, defining that access as
any product or service that redirects an account holder to a gaming or gambling site. It is a rule
about what may sit inside a payment app. It did not make online gambling illegal for Filipino
adults, and it did not stop a customer sending funds to a merchant.

The suspension runs until the BSP finalises its policy on online gambling payment services. That
policy exists so far only as an exposure draft published in July 2025, which would ring-fence
gambling money in a separate account with enhanced identity checks, daily caps tied to the account
holder’s average balance, a transaction window of no more than six hours a day and a
cooling-off period after heavy usage. It is not in force. The
GCash page sets out the draft rule by rule,
along with who is barred from holding a gambling account in the Philippines at all.

Playing Safely

Gambling is entertainment that costs money, and in the Philippines it is restricted to adults
aged 21 and over. Fund the wallet deliberately rather than topping it up mid-session,
set a deposit limit at the casino before you play rather than after, and treat any figure you deposit
as spent. PAGCOR maintains a National Database of Restricted Persons that anyone can ask to be added
to, and international support is available at
GambleAware.
Where online gambling is prohibited where you live, this page is not a route around that.

Using Maya at a casino

Pros
  • Transfers clear in minutes rather than days where the operator supports the method both ways.
  • No card number is handed to the gambling site.
  • A wallet balance funded deliberately is a natural spending ceiling.
  • Peso limits are published, so the floor and the ceiling are known before you deposit.
  • A virtual and a physical card run on the same balance, with nothing to move between them.
Good to know
  • The in-app gambling shortcut has been suspended since August 2025, and the draft rules would keep redirect links banned permanently.
  • Fewer cashiers list Maya by name than list GCash, so the method has to be checked site by site.
  • Deposit lists and withdrawal lists are set separately, and a method on one is not always on the other.
  • A peso deposit into a euro or dollar casino account converts twice, on the way in and on the way out.
  • Limits are per transaction, so a large balance comes out in instalments.

FAQ

Can you still use Maya at an online casino in 2026?

The wallet still works as a payment method where an operator lists it. What stopped in August 2025 was the gambling access built into the Maya app itself: the Games feature was disabled at 8:00 p.m. on 16 August 2025 under BSP Memorandum No. M-2025-029, which told every BSP-supervised institution to remove links providing in-app gambling access within 48 hours. That memorandum governs what may appear inside a payment app. It does not stop a customer sending funds to a merchant.

What happened to the Games feature in the Maya app?

It was disabled for gambling on 16 August 2025 at 8:00 p.m., and customers holding a balance in a linked gaming account were told to move it back to the Maya Wallet through the Games feature before the cut-off. The gaming section of the app today sells gaming pins for platforms such as PSN, Xbox Live, Nintendo eShop and Steam Wallet.

Which online casinos accept Maya?

Betwinner is the operator covered on this site that lists PayMaya by name for a Philippine account, at 100 ₱ to 50,000 ₱ with no fee, on deposits and withdrawals alike, and with a 15-minute processing target on e-wallet payouts. Method lists are set per country and change without notice, so the reliable check is to open the cashier, set the country to the Philippines, and look for Maya on the withdrawal screen as well as the deposit screen.

Can I withdraw my winnings to Maya?

Only where the operator lists the method for withdrawals, which is a separate list from the deposit one. Betwinner publishes PayMaya on both, on the same 100 ₱ to 50,000 ₱ band. Identity verification runs before a first payout rather than at registration, and the wallet has to be in the same name as the casino account.

Is PayMaya the same as Maya?

Yes. PayMaya is the former name of the same app, operated by Maya Philippines, Inc., and cashiers have been slower to update the label than the app was. A payments screen listing PayMaya and a payments screen listing Maya mean the same wallet.

Does the Maya card work at an online casino?

That depends on the operator and the issuer rather than on the wallet. Maya issues a virtual card in the app and an optional physical card, both drawing on the same wallet balance, and describes the physical card as working anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted. Some casinos treat cards as deposit-only — Betwinner does — so a card cannot always be the route a payout comes back on.

Are there fees for using Maya at a casino?

Three parties set the numbers. Betwinner charges no fee on the PayMaya route in either direction. Maya sets its own charges on the ways you fund the wallet, plus a 1.75% forex charge on international ATM withdrawals. And if the casino account is denominated in euros or dollars rather than pesos, a conversion applies on the way in and again on the way out.

Is online gambling legal in the Philippines?

Online gambling offered to players inside the Philippines is a matter of PAGCOR licensing, and the 2025 BSP memorandum did not change that — it is addressed to banks and e-wallets, not to players or operators. A separate law signed on 23 October 2025, Republic Act No. 12312, banned offshore gaming operations, meaning operations based in the Philippines serving players outside it. Players must be 21 or over, and PAGCOR maintains a National Database of Restricted Persons.
